Fabric collage

This workshop will specifically concentrate on fabric collage using free machine embroidery, hand stitching, beading and needle felting. You will need to bring along a picture, this could be a photograph, magazine clipping or a book and the imagery could be anything from a building to a traditional floral pattern. All materials are included. Do feel free to bring your own sewing machine if you wish but remember all the feet and the instruction book if you have it!

Heart sampler

In this workshop you will make a beautiful needle felted floral sampler. This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and those that have needle felted before. There will be lots of new techniques to try including the opportunity to play with an embellisher machine.

Customising clothes

This is a fun workshop where you have a wardrobe clear out and then bring a bag of clothes with you to customize! Plain jumpers, scarves and cardigans are perfect for adding needle felted decoration too, while other items can be cut up and altered. The workshop inevitably ends with a catwalk show!

Needle felted birds

These lovely birds are now infamous after I taught Kirstie Allsopp how to make them on Kirsties Handmade Britain! They are very simple to make and it’s a great way to get familiar with needle felting. We start with a lovely robin and then you can experiment with different coloured fleeces and feathers to make your own choice of exotic (or garden) bird. Anyone who has needle felted before would also have a lot of fun at this workshop as there is so much scope to experiment and create!
