Experimental Samples

I have been creating inspirational textile samples for the fashion and interiors industries for over 20 years. My work has sold to a vast range of clients from Dior, Chanel and Balenciaga to John Lewis and Boden.

I explore the infinite possibilities of reclaimed fabrics within my work, taking vintage fabrics, looking closely at their properties …do they fray, can I weave through their structure, is there a brilliant motif among the chaos of an old print? I love re-imagining textiles and often render the original fabric unrecognisable by layering, cutting, weaving, sewing or embellishing it.

I sell the copyright along with the designs, so there is a certain secrecy to this side of my work, but occasionally I frame these pieces to be enjoyed as art.
