Do you have a sewing machine that you haven’t a clue how to use? This beginners driving lesson will demystify this wonderful machine! You will leave having made a simple cushion cover in a fabric of your choice.
This workshop works brilliantly in conjunction with the basic cushion workshop for first time sewers. I am basically teaching you how to drive your sewing machine and this workshop shows you how to use it to draw! A lot of my students are so excited by this technique I swear they never do any normal sewing again! Once you have the hang of sewing in any direction i add a little applique into the mix, then the possibilities are endless…
This workshop will specifically concentrate on using water soluble fabric to create beautiful fabric structures using the sewing machine. You will learn how make these gorgeous bowls and have the chance to experiment with making lace edgings and weaves.
This workshop will specifically concentrate on fabric collage using free machine embroidery, hand stitching, beading and needle felting. You will need to bring along a picture, this could be a photograph, magazine clipping or a book and the imagery could be anything from a building to a traditional floral pattern. All materials are included. Do feel free to bring your own sewing machine if you wish but remember all the feet and the instruction book if you have it!
In this workshop you will make a beautiful needle felted floral sampler. This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and those that have needle felted before. There will be lots of new techniques to try including the opportunity to play with an embellisher machine.
This is a fun workshop where you have a wardrobe clear out and then bring a bag of clothes with you to customize! Plain jumpers, scarves and cardigans are perfect for adding needle felted decoration too, while other items can be cut up and altered. The workshop inevitably ends with a catwalk show!
These lovely birds are now infamous after I taught Kirstie Allsopp how to make them on Kirsties Handmade Britain! They are very simple to make and it’s a great way to get familiar with needle felting. We start with a lovely robin and then you can experiment with different coloured fleeces and feathers to make your own choice of exotic (or garden) bird. Anyone who has needle felted before would also have a lot of fun at this workshop as there is so much scope to experiment and create!
Come and learn how to make these fun felt flowers using a variety of needle felting techniques. The flowers can be stemmed or given brooch backs. This is always such a fun workshop full of colour and inevitably resembling a flower shop by the end of the workshop!
